I have a filmy haze thats on both the outside and inside of my headlights on my 99 prelude. how do I get rid of it? I saw someone suggested a gel but I cant find where to buy that. anyone also know how to get access to the inside of the lens so I can try cleaning it?

you won't be able to clean the inside of the lens. If the lens has a fog on the inside from condensation (water getting in then evaporating from the heat of the light bulb then condensing) it means that the headlamp housing is cracked and the entire assembly will have to be replaced to cure that problem. That's pretty pricy (about $250) to do that.

to get rid of the dull white on the headlamp lens you can do two things. The first is to use a 'rubbing compound' that is typically used to remove scratches from paint or to restore the luster to faded paint. You can buy rubbing compound from an auto parts store but you'll have to get both a regular rubbing compound and a 'polishing' compound. Use the regular grit compound first then follow it with a polishing compound. You can do this by hand (it will take time and patience) but if you have a buffing wheel it goes a lot faster. It will remove the haze from the front (I have personally done this and it does work)

the other solution that I have heard is to use Crest Toothpaste with Flouride and to rub that into the lens as you would do with a rubbing compound. I hear that is just as effective but I do not have any personal experience using that method.

try it before you spend the money to have someone else do it or to replace the headlamps.

hope that helps
