Richard is deciding who should be Chief

Meredith Christina, Izzie and Callie are having a toilet paper game as Callie puts Yang's vowes on Christin's hand. The beepers go off and everyone leaves. Before they go Meredith tell Christina she has to get married to prove to Meredith that it is possible for her and Derek.

Addison recognizes that Addele is in with Richard and he is wondering what is up. Addison tells him about the care wreck and the pregnancy. He sits down and prepares to stay with her no matter what.

Everyone is assigned doctors and patients except Yang who is told to go home.

Preston is in with Joe Paul and the mother of the twins saying that she needs heart surgery.

Mark and Derek are being lead to the last hiker by Miranda who tells them what the problem is. The man has an axe in the head. Derek is wondering what happened.

Blake Poe arrives and talks to Addison saying he is Rebecca's husband. Alex is watching this.

Callie tells George that she is crazy but she wants to have a baby. George tells her there is a guy with an axe in his head.

The hikers tell Derek the axe was an accident. It accidentally slipped hnd hit him in the head as he tried to decend as they tried to continue the climb.

At the apartment Christina is being set on by her mother in law who wants her to wear the family choaker and wonders about her eyelashes.

In a flash forward Mark is being told that he will not be chief.

Back with his Wife Richard is making sure that his wife takes her meds and is telling her that he can do his job from her side.

Burke and Addison are getting it across that there may be need to rush the delivery if he finds complications.

Meredith tells Derek that she wants sex. He tells her he flirted with a woman. She asks if she should be worried. He

Back with Adele things have turned for the worse and Addison is will have to perform a possible abortion to fix a partial miscarriage that is now killing Adelle.

Addison is also flash forward told that she is not going to be chief.

Blake is taken to see Rebecca who he no longer recognizes.
On his way out Alex is wondering what took him so long to show up. He tells Alex he thought she left him.

Addison has to tell the Chief that things did not go well but before she can finish what she is saying he rushes into the room to find Adelle alive but the baby dead and a boy and his. He also finds Adele is attached to him again.

Meanwhile Derek Mark and George are operating on the hiker and it is apparent from how clean the wound it that the man was hit on purpose.

Addison, Izzie, and Preston are working on the mother but her condition is worsening so Addison is told by Preston to get the twins out because the woman is almost dead. When she is dead he tells Addison he has to fix the mother. Addison delivers the babies Preston defibs her and starts to repair her aortic & heart problems.

Christina arrives and wants Meredith to pay attention as her mother in law took her eye broughs. This is now about her.
she needs Meredith to make it right.

Derek Mark and Preston are in the scrub up room as They prepare for surgeries and Mark is thinking Derek makes a good best man but so did he. Derek says to Preston and the worst that can happen is that in ten years I sleep with your wife.

Flash forward again and Richard is telling Preston that he will not be the chief.

Preston is working on the mother's heart and they are talking about the wedding and his nerves and his vowes and they tell him to recite them so he does and when it is over they all want to marry him.

Derek tells the other hikers to tell him the truth but they don't so he tells them to talk to the police.

Meredith and Christina track down Miranda and tell her Christina has to cut. Miranda is not going to let them do anything but christina tells her she is losing her identity and she needs to cut just to prove she is still herself. For some reason Miranda can empathize with her so she takes her to an OR.

Richard is talking to Adele about how he thought she was dead. She tells him how he was the father, it was a boy and how she misjudged him. His secretary comes in and tells him he has his chief meetings to take care of. He tells Adelle he will be right back.

Christina is allowed to cut open a patient as Derek brings in a doctor to close up Preston's patient, and then Christina is told to put down the scalpel and go.

All of the interns rush to the locker room to get dressed for the wedding. George is fiddling with his tie when Izzie tells him that she loves him and is his best friend and if Callie is who he wants then she will do all she can to make that so but as his best freind and because she loves him she has to tell him that she is in love with him. He says he will talk to her at the wedding.

Alex gets his suit on. Meredith and Izzie are in there dresses and in come the secretary with the exam letters and everyone opens theirs and says they all mage it through. The girls are about to leave the hospital when Meredtih sees Derek and has to talk to him so she gives Izzie the wedding gown and sends her with Christina.

Meredith wants to know if it is over. Derek is saying it will never be over for him. She is his one but he feels she has to give him the same. She is back and forth and he wants her to be there for him the way she is for her friends. Of course she has to go to be there for Christina.

Alex is leaving and he noices Rebecca is checking out. He can't figure out why. She says everyone has checked her and the baby out. She is going home with Blake unless he can give her a reason to stay. He looks at her chart but she tells him she wants a real reason to stay. He tells her to stay with the stable guy and leaves.

At the chappel, Meredith is screaming at Christina to get out of the bedroom and the doors open Christina is fully dressed and ready to go.

At the altar Derek and preston stand there talking as Preston thinks that Derek is the new chief but Derek say he is not. They are wondering where George is but they have no idea.

In the pews Addison is wondering which side to sit on as Alex sits next to her and says he just sits next to the prettiest girl in the church. He tells her they can have sex again. She says he does not want her he wants Rebecca. He tells her that Rebecca is married. She says that Rebecca loves him and you don't get that many chances at love and he should go take advantage of this one.

In the Back Izzie is wondering where George is and Callie tells her about the pregnancy and about her being named Chief Resident.

Outside the hospital George and Miranda are talking about failing. George failed his intern exam and has to repeat his first year or change specialty. George feels he failed miranda. Miranda feels she failed George. Neither one is going to the wedding.

Christina is ready to walk the aisle as Meredith hads her the bouquest and suddenly she sees that she washed away her vowes to make that surguical cut and she is freaked. Meredith has to be her to help her get over her nerves. Meredith yells at her again and Christina regains her focus.

In the chappel Preston walks up the aisle to tell Christina that he knows that he loves her but she only thinks she wants to marry him and that is not enough.

Meredith, Callie and Izzie have to enter the chappel and Meredith has to tell everyone to go home it is all over.

Flashback, to Richard telling Derek that he will be the new Chief of Surgery but Derek turns it down saying that he is not the best candidate, Richard is the best candidate and he shoud just do it differently, not quit.

In the mother's room Joe and Paul are there with her and the twins.

In the locker room George is cleaning out his locker when the new class of interns comes in and are looking for lockers and thinking about the blood on some dirty scrubs. One of the interns looks at George and starts to pump him for information. She wants to call him Doctor. He wants her to call him George. She tells him her name and it turns out that she is Meredith's half sister.

At the Apartment, Christina is looking for signs of Preston but all of his stuff is missing. Meredith is watching her fall apart as she struggles to get the choker off her neck. Meredith gets it off and cuts her out of the bridal gown so that she can breath as Christina cries in hysterics while Meredith holds her.

And in the end as in the begining Richard is standing there talking about the sacrifices it takes.

Callie was given the chief resident position after McDreamy turned it down.

The wedding didn't happen. Cristina got cold feet at the last minute, and right before she convinced herself to go down the aisle, Preston stops her, says that she really doesn't want to get married, and doesn't want to put her through something that she doesn't want to do. When Cristina gets home, she finds that Preston has taken some of his things and has left.

They all passed their intern exams except for George. George now has to decide if he wants to start the intern process all over again, or just walk away from being a surgeon.
