You most likely already have the wireless network card if it is a new computer.
Now all you need is a wirless network router and an internet conenction for your home. min. $50 for router and $30 /month for internet. But you can alsoconnect to "wireless hotspots" that can be found in certain areas like coffee shops or bookstores. You can also connect to other people's wireless networks if they aren't encrypted or they give you the network key.
You can also go with Cingular or Verizon which have a wireless card that goes into your adapter slot and can have limited national wireless service.

My Friend,
Yes, it is possible to always have Internet on your laptop. Internet is a service that you have to purchase from an Internet Service Provider (ISP).
Now depending on your usage of the laptop your ISP may have to vary. If you will be using the laptop mainly in your house or office or some single place that is constant, then a normal DSL, ADSL, or Cable Internet would do the job.
However, if you travel a lot then your choice of ISP would be limited by the telephone providers like Verizon, Cingular etc... you will also end up purchasing a PCMCIA card for your laptop that will be GSM enabled and will give you speeds of 90 Kbps to 600 Kbps (kilo bytes per second). Utilizing this option will give you Internet access where every your ISP phone signals work 24x7.
hope to have answered your question.

Does your laptop have a built in wireless network card? If not just go to any computer store and buy a wireless network card for a laptop and you'll also need a wireless router to connect your modem to. You'll probably need to get somebody who knows what they're doing and help you out. The wireless router connects to your modem and once you have the wireless network card in your laptop you can connect to the router and go online around your house. It's kind of like a cordless phone so you can't walk down the street with the laptop because you'll have no reception.

Yes you can have internet on your laptop. Since you recently bought a laptop it should have a Wireless Assistant that helps.
Connecting it wirelessly would work faster if you have a router. All you need to do is temporarily connect your laptop to your router and run the wireless assistant.
If you dont want to buy a router, you have to set up a wireless network on your home desktop (big computer, not laptop) and when done your laptop should tell you if signal is in range.
Use this link to set up a wireless network on home desktop

it would only be possible to have internet all the time when there are networks that are connected to the internet in your area, and ones that you can access. As long as your wireless card is enabled on your laptop you can scan for available networks

All new dell laptops have wifi. But you have to have someone broadcasting to you to use it. If your home's router is set up, you may need your parents to give you the passcode. Go to a coffeeshop, the library, school where there is a hotspot and ask how to sign on. You may have to make some changes to proxy for example). If you want WWAN, you need to BUY a card from your ISP and pay PER month.
