Did you ever have to wear a uniform to school?

My friend attends a Catholic prep school. It is all girls and they are required to wear uniforms. Thankfully it is a bit progressive and they can wear khaki pants with a blouse, though the option to wear a tartan skirt and socks or tights still remains.

Did you ever have to wear a uniform to school? What did it look like? Do you think kids should be required to wear uniforms to school?

yes. it was a christian school. plaid and red. i actually didn't mind. and until middle school, yeah. it somewhat stops all the fashion issues and isolation. but people will always find a way to work around it like pull their skirts up higher and do their hair and makeup. and tights? *shudder*

I also went to a Catholic School 1st to 8th grade. My uniform was a plaid skirt in dark blues, a light blue blouse and a navy vest. Plus we had to wear knee highs-Navy Blue and black oxfords. We were allowed to wear sweaters but the had to be the button down kind. There are both pros and cons of having kids wear uniforms. The con is kids are not able to express themselves when everybody wears the same outfit. However, in some schools, it is a fashion contest. If some kids can not always afford new clothes, other kids make fun of them. In one case, one girl attacked another girl because she was jealous of what one person was wearing.

yah. ive been wearing a uniform since 5th grade. six years later im still stuck in them. mine arent too bad. its a polo, a skirt, knee highs and shoes. they dont make us tuck in our shirts and we can roll our skirts. the only thing they really stress about is wearing the right shoes.

yea i have to wear a uniform to my school. light blue button down shirt with navy blue dress pants. its not fun wearing them
