Average length of home ownership in the US?

Does anyone know where I can find study/research on what % home owners sell thier home within 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, 4, years, 5 years etc.?

Not aware of any such detailed information, but according to NAR, the AVERAGE length of ownership time is roughly 6 years or so. Bear in mind that this is an average, and includes those who move many times rapidly, as well as those who buy a home and live in the same home until they die.
