The Scary Movies are kind of freaky but they're extra funny also! Suspense movies or sinister movies like Batman Begins, Batman Returns, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Tim Burton films. All that is creepy without being 'pee your pants' scary.

Try watching the original Psycho. It's in black and white, but it is an awesome movie and just scary enough, but not overly scary.
The Grudge is good, but has some "jump in your seat" moments, but no blood or gore. Loved it.
The Scream movies are good.
Sixth Sense - wonderful

The Frighteners (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0116365/)
It is a really cute scary movie about a guy who can see ghosts (played by Michael J. Fox). He and his ghost pals (plus his love interest, of course) team up to battle a scary demon-like creature. It’s a great date movie (a little scary but cute and romantic).
