The Vikings are in the NFC. The NFC sucks. Any team that really wants to can make the playoffs in the NFC. Just look at Rex Grossman and duh Bears!

(edit)
But someday the NFC might be good again. Won 15 of 16 Super Bowls 16 - 31 and 13 straight SB 19-31.

Yes, I believe they are gonna be one of the surprises in the NFC

The other being St. Louis

---

The Vikings started off 4-2 last year and were really doing pretty good...

But then they suffered from even more injuries than the ones they did have

In the latter of the season Chester Taylor wore down

and they threw in a rookie QB with very little practice with the 1st team

---

This year they got rid of all the guys who didn't fit their systems

Fred Smoot CB - Not physical enough for cover 2
Jermaine Wiggins TE - Just too darn slow & can't block
Travis Taylor WR - Decent possession WR but not a playmaker
Brad Johnson QB - Age is catching up to him
Naploen Harris LB - Good LB but nothing special

In Free Agency they added:

Visanthe Shiancoe TE - Faster than Wiggins and a much much better blocker
Bobby Wade WR - A solid 3rd WR with some decent playmaking ability
Mike Doss S - Good safety who adds even more competition to that spot
Todd Lowber WR - Is said to have run a 4.11 in the 40 but we'll see if his speed can translate on the football field

In the draft they added:

Adrian Peterson RB - Besides Reggie Bush, he's the best running back prospect to come out of college in a long time. If it wasn't for his injuries he would have definetely been the 3rd pick
Sidney Rice WR - Excellent redzone target at 6'4 and is said to have the best hands in the draft
Marcus McCauley CB - Was rated as a 1st round prospect last year
Aundrae Allison - Has game breaking ability and should have gone much higher
Brian Robinson - Pass rushing specialist who should help to their DE sack woes
Rufus Alexander, Tyler Thigpen, Chandler Williams - All should provide some depth

---

Guys coming back from injury:

Erasmus James DE - A 1st rounder who is the Vikings best DE
Chad Greenway LB - A 1st roundeer who is the Vikings best cover LB
Devonte Edwards CB / Charles Gordon CB - Both add depth to the secondary

---

Vikings already have:

Amazing run defense
Amazing running game

---

What they added:

Playmakers on offense, which should even further their running game and boast their passing game

Depth on defense, which should help in passing situations... Which is really what the Vikings D was missing

---

I really think the Vikings are gonna upset the world and make the playoffs

10-6

i don't think so, i think the nfc will be more competitive than people think with two teams from the nfc east plus the vikings, 49ers, rams, and packers, all will be likely to fight for the wild card spots...the vikings do not have an experienced enough quarterback or enough big-play ability at wide receiver to be a major threat, and their pass defense is still questionable, although they were rock-solid against the run last year

The division is god awfull, so that's in the favor of the Vikings. They have a good chance to challenge the bears with recent pickups, but the bears defense is just too strong, and the wildcard is quite a chore in the conferance. I would say no.

they had a solid defense last year...so that is the first place to start a making a playoff run...they have a solid running game and a good run blocking line..the passing game is going to be the problem...no more moss no more culpepper...hopefully jackson is as good as they think he is. i think he is going to be a project that could work out...they might still be in the hunt in december..but the vikes are always known for starting strong, then falling to pieces.

Nope, it's all in Jackson's hands and he'll suck it up. They have too many holes and they spent too much money on big price average veterans. Their hot to trot rookie running back is banged up and will get off to a slow start with the lack of playing time in camp. So there will be no relief there. They'll be 6-10.

As much as the NFC sucks, the Vikings suck even more. Tavaris Jackson as starting QB. Gimme a break.

no sorrythey wont they have an unproven QB in jackson who is coming into his second year and doesnt have much expeirience. The offense is young all around and yes they had a good draft but they are rookies and wont have immediate impact. also hte defense is old and soft they let go of their only real defenders and ya. but there is a promising future for a talented young team

No, they are gonna be dismall. Finishing last in the division even behind the Lions. 3-13 looks realistic.
