since the plates are essentially 'floating' on the molten core of the earth, and the fluid is ever moving as all fluids do, the motion moves what lies on top of it.

if you put them all together they fit. they move because they float on the liquid mantle of the core. scary isn't it??? just remember that there is no gravity, the world sucks! sleep well!
