dont be in a hurry to do things grown ups do - you will have plenty of time for that.
enjoy high school - its the best time of your life - you are kind of grown up and yet live at home with parents and have no worries - your parents still worry about you (like you dont have to pay rent and bills and buy your own food and clothes etc)

For a 16 year old girl, i tell you this: Stay in school, and invest heavily in friends and family who are the only ones who will guide and support you with your choices as you become an adult. You will find that this will be very helpful in making firm and well-educated decisions later on in life as a productive and sucessful member of the community.
Develop a talent: sing, dance or play an instrument. Feed your soul with music and try to see something beautiful in everything around you. This will help you keep a clear mind even when your entire world is turned upside down.
Read and write: read novels and write a journal. Feed your mind with what is true and maintain an analytical view of problems and this will make you a fair person who sticks to the issues and refuses to be judgemental.
Eat and enjoy life: forget about what others say or others think about your body, whether positive or negative. Feed your body with what is healthy and appropriate. Love your body unconditionally, and care for it religiously. Body image and esteem is not dependent on other people's opinion. It depends on how you yourself see your body. This will make people value you as a whole person, not just the sum of your parts.

I have lived by these four laws my entire life. And i seek not to change a single thing... I hope this helps in any way possible.

I wish at 16 I did not date a older biker man. I wish I had enjoyed being a kid instead of having them at 18. You have the world right now. Enjoy it. Go to school everyday and go to college if you want. You are not gonna get a good paying job without a diploma. The only way to own things like a car or a house is to work hard for them. Good luck

This isn't something I wish I had done, but I honestly wish kids "back then" had been more accepting of everyone around them. I'm sure I'll think of something that I would like to change, but that is the first thing that popped into my head, even though it wasn't something to change about myself.

You see, 10 seconds after I submit my answer, I think of something. LOL I wish I could have had a close and personal "mother/daughter" relationship with my Mom. Like the kind where you could discuss boys, love, etc. She didn't want to hear about that stuff because in her mind if we didn't talk about it-it wasn't happening. So that is what I would have liked to change.

I wish I would have gone to college before having children. I cant say that I really regret it because I feel like I made the right decision for the situation I was pushed into.

Took school more seriously, gone to college right after high school and not waited until I was 28 to go back. Now I feel a little behind all of my friends financially etc. I want the things that they have (houses, kids, cars), but am not at the point where I can afford them yet!

Most of the crazy kid things I did as a teen I wouldn't change. I'm better for having done them.

What I would change is I'd like to have the chance to buckle down on my education in high school and then in college. I should have worked harder.

the normal stuff like don't do drugs and don't have sex. I regret having sex when I was 16. I got pregnant and had to drop out of high school.

Realise that inner beauty is what counts. "years from now it won't matter what you looked like, what you wore, what your favorite kind of music was. It will only matter what you learned" Remember that and you will go far.

Have someone to trust and to fall back on. Don't keep bad friends, don't let them get to you. Choose quality over quantity.

Just be yourself and don't let anyone bring you down. Smile daily and live life out.

You will grow up to be a wise adult.

Good luck hun,
Peaches

yeah i wish i would'nt have partied so much and gotten married so young twice. I wish i would've go to college at an earlier age and then had my kids. And i wish that i would've listened to my mom a whole hell of a lot more especially when it came to school and men. My advice to you is that you should concentrate on school and just because you think you're in love don't always think it is going to last when you're this young.

My only regret is not being able to say goodbye to my Grandmother before she passed. I still haven't.

My advice, enjoy your life, don't rush it, live for the moment. Love those everyone around you and surround yourself with good friends. More importantly, don't EVER sell yourself short and don't let go of your values.
