My son just graduated from college, and I took him, his wife, and son to a place in Little Rock, AR called Shoguns. It is one of the places that people sit around the grill and the chef prepares the food in front of everyone. We had a wonderful time. A few other families showed up that were from the graduation also so it must have been a fairly popular idea.

Who is "HE" you boyfriend? I would sit back and think of something unusual. Something no one else would think of. Maybe make him an album of fun times you've had together or concert tickets to his favorite band. I try to think of different things. Once for a baby shower I gave the mother a coupon I made in photoshop for a free night of babysitting, movie tickets and a gift card for them to go to dinner! She said it was the best gift ever! It was better than getting more clothes and diapers. lol Just think about it a while and think about what he really likes! You'll think of something great!

Get him something he'll cherish forever. Gifts are the best way to show a person how much you know about them. Something personal, you know? Maybe a plaq with pictures of every year of school. (if ur his mom) Or, maybe you could interview all his friends and classmates and get it on video tape. You could video tape the interviews and turn it into a documentary just for him...with pictures from his elementary/middle/high school years and everything. Just get him something that will touch him...Let his parents get him the car. :P

I graduated last year, mostly everyone got money and gift cards. If it is your friend or boyfriend, consider taking them out to dinner or out somewhere fun as a 'graduation gift.' You can also make them something special, like a photo collage of all their years in high school.

Get him something that he will appreciate for the thought rather than for the cost. You don't say what your relationship is to him but... if you know him fairly well... look for a gift that will mean something to him and to you. Usually, I try to get a special something that I think he'd find useful, meaningful or sentimentally significant -- then I would hope that he feels that way when he receives my gift. It really is the thought that counts.
