The directions for my hairdryer inform you should not use while sleeping.
My bottle of Windex tells me not to spray it in my eyes.
My sleep aids warn me I might get drowzy.
The warning on my iron says I shouldn't iron the clothes on my body.
The stroller I bought tells me not to fold my baby up with it before storage.
I'm sure there is thousands more.
What do you think?

You'd be amazed how stupid some people are... thats why those warnings are there, because someone has done it, more than once

I saw on TV recently, a lady called 911 because she was watching a movie, and the man on the movie killed someone.

This is probably the same lady that folded up her kid in the stroller

Yes, because there is always a moron that thinks by not following the instructions and getting hurt, he/she can take the company to court. That is the reason so many companies put such ridiculous sounding instructions on their products.

These instructions are given under the advise of lawyers to prevent any possibility of suit. Many of the public are that stupid and some that smart. They are just trying to close the possible loop holes.

It is all because that lady sued Mc Donalds for spilling the hot coffee in her lap. Law suits demanded the MFG. make sure the product is dummy proof as much as possible.

I have had classes that go over this....
the first person had it right-- it is because some moron has done those stupid things & sued for it. Even though any reasonable court should throw the suit out, the US judicial system, at least, is at best plaintiff-happy.... at worst, corrupt

Fact of the matter is that they HAVE to warnings on there because people are sue happy. Ever hear in the news about the guy who tried to mow his hedges with his lawn mower? He was seriously injured and wound up suing the manufacturer of the mower because it DIDN'T say NOT to mow your hedges.

And, yes, some people really ARE that dumb...

Lol, I know what you mean! Have you ever noticed there are actually directions on the side of a toothpick box? I don't think that people actually need these things, but if they weren't there, then someone would sue them! It's sad, really.

Yes, Hardees had 2 actually put on the cup..coffee, tea, hot chocolate is HOT...A customer sued them because she spilled the coffee on herself and it burnt her, unbelievable she won.
Should u have 2 tell someone that coffee is served HOT, don't u see the steam and feel the hotness.

Call me crazy, I once steamed my shirt when it was on me, but I promise I will never do that again.
The companies do not think we are dumb, but protect their money (what if someone sue them for not putting enough warning on the label).

This was actually discussed in one of my communication classes and the teacher said that usually when these warnings are there it is because someone has done them.
