I don't understand your question. Are you asking that if Peyton Manning was traded for David Carr (which would never happen) would the Colts make the playoffs? Or The Texans?
Well, if you're talking about the Colts, then possibly. Peyton Manning is incredible, but he's got talent around him. Indy's offensive line is one of the best in the NFL. Not only that, but the Colts have arguably two of the best wide receivers in the league. However, Indy's offense is very complicated and it would take some time for David Carr to adjust.
If you're talking about the Texans making the playoffs, well, maybe. The Texans have one of the worst offensive lines in the league. It's hard to be successful when you are throwing for more than 50%. They also don't have much talent on offense like Indy does. So, it's hard to say if Peyton Manning could carry the Texans to the playoffs by himself.
Since this trade is most likely never going to happen. There's no need to worry about it. Peyton Manning is going to retire as an Indianpolis Colt, and David Carr will eventually form into a better quarterback, and possibly lead his team to a championship.

Caser_92 is on crack. Manning is overrated? Look at his numbers. The guy has already had a hall of fame career. Yes, it is credited to his supporting cast, but they still need a talented guy to get the ball to them. Anyway, If Manning went to another team, he wouldn't be as succesfull because the offense wouldn't be custom made for him. Carr is an average QB that would do well in Indy with the talent around him. Play-offs, yes. SB appearance, no. He's not that good.

it would never happen, but to answer the question i think they would be a playoff team...i think carr is a better quarterback than he is given credit for because he never had any time to throw the ball, and with the array of receivers in indy and the fantastic offensive line he would have success, he wouldn't put up the numbers manning puts up year in and year out and the team wouldn't be as good, but they would still be playoff caliber

The Panthers (Carr is a Panther now) with Peyton Manning, definitely they would
The Colts with Carr, I don't think so. Carr is another Tim Couch.

yes the colts would. the texans would still suck. iot's not peyton manning, that helps the colts it's his team. manning is overrated. you give him the old pats receivers behind the pats line with the pats defense and he would suck. anyone could be a good QB with the talent he is surrounded by. but you see how long it took him to get to the Superbowl(having to cheat i might add) with that talent, then there is no way he would get there with the little talent the texans have.granted the texans have upgraded. also funny side note, that exact trade (except carr came with a first rounder not just himself) happened on my madden 07 game. the texans suck. colts wild card team. so i mean then they faced me in the AFC championship the next year. so i know it's not real but it helps me prove my point.

yeah cause its the recievers that make the plays for manning, they keep bailing him out every game and they'd do the same for Carr.
