Try and take a few spelling courses. You know, so you can get into a good collage.

I'm currently a Freshman student and had to think about the same question last year. It is not always what you take, but how well you do the class. Try to get into a higher level class, because the students in those classes work harder, and it makes you want to do as well as them. Also, in-class discussions are much more interesting. I recommend that you take a creative writing class. You will have to do a lot of writing in college, so you will want to learn to write strong and convincing essays. If you need additional help ask a school counselor or a division chair person of a subject you are interested in. Some college websites have class requirements. Another thing, colleges like foreign languages and AP classes. Try to do 4 years of foreign language and, if you can, at least one AP class. Some high schools are stricter about letting you into AP. Find out how to get into these. So really, to impress a college this is what you have to do. Good Luck!

You are smart to be preparing early. One thing you might do right now is figure out some colleges you would be interested in attending and request a catalog, those will list entry requirements, and just go from there. You could also make an appointment and talk with a counselor at your school to get the classes you will need. The most important part is to get a solid academic record, do your best, get good grades, and admissions officers also often like applicants to have extra-curricular activities. The school newspaper, for example. Or sports. Anyway, good luck!

Freshman classes...hmm well you have English (I would go for honors), science (depending on where you stand academically) I would go for bio honors if I could. If you have to take reg. science your freshman year that's okay too. Just do your best whatever you do....social studies same thing just do your best and while you want higher level courses for the gpa advantage and like that person said people do work harder in them, you also have to find your limit. Don't wear yourself out at the same time or your grades will fall. I would take a foreign language my first year because then you can go on to four (if your school offers it) and four years of a foreign language always look good and show you are dedicated. I would also get my health/pe req. out of the way. Hope this helps. Good Luck!

That all depends on what you want to do with your life, i.e career. I would talk to your counselor. If your into languages take English and 1 or 2 second languages. Drama or art if you enjoy the arts.It all depends on what your goals are.
