I live in an area where everyone seems to be biased...and it's getting on my nerves. Though it may seem normal to hear a teenager call something they don't like "gay and retarded", I still hate it every time I hear it.
Number one, I hate gay bashing. I, personally, think it's a terrible thing to do...it's these people's own opinions who they're attracted to, and they don't deserve to be trashed on all the time.
Number two, I know what it's like to have a mental disorder...meaning I hate it when people call others "retards" or "retarded". It's horrible. It's not someone's fault if they have one, and they don't deserve to be made fun of.
My question is, why are people so biased in this world? If you use those words, I'd appreciate it if you'd tell me why you use them and what your opinion on the matter is.

Just letting you know: I'm not gay, nor am I mentally challenged. I'm just asking WHY so many people hate gays and people with mental disabilities.

One more thing: I know people like to use it as a normal, casual term. I don't need a memo to tell me that. I'm just stating that it gets annoying.
Also, I'm not JUST referring to it being used as a casual term. I'm also referring to all the anti-gay jokes that go around commonly and several anti-gay rants I've heard. I'd like someone to explain to me WHY they hate gays so much, if that's even possible!

i luv gay and lesbian people!! i totaly get what u mean my when people say oh thats so GAY or "RETARD!!" it really gets on my nerves!!
people are afraid to accept the facts and live with it. plain and simple.
i have never called a person gay or reartred. and i dont plan on it. i feel awful when a person says that or says "FAG" or "CHEEB" HATE IT!! it makes me so mad!! i get where u are coming from!

Most people when they call something gay or retarted they are'nt literally talking about someone who is actually gay or retarded. I have a friend who thinks that everything is gay..but when she says it she doesn't really mean "gay." Most people aren't biased they are ignorant and uneducated. If every person knew someone who was retarted or gay and truly understood their circumstances the words gay and retarded would not be used as a form of negaitvity.

So what if you call something gay or retarded? I do it all the time. Like right now I'm thinking this is a really retarded "question". Complaining about it like you are doing it isn't going to make it go away!!!!
Why I use them... because I'm not tight-@ssed about things like this. I like joking around my friends and its fun to call other guys gay for liking something or for them doing something totally stupid (shades of Jackass) and calling them a retard. It's fun. I'm never going to stop even if the PC-brigade come rape my door down.
