the song "the light" by common has another version with just the girl singing it and no rapping... its very soulful... does anyone know who it is? thanks...

I see your comment, and I suggest you go to the XM or Sirius website and see if there's a way to access playlists for the stations, or if perhaps there's a way you can contact them to ask.
The song "Open Your Eyes" (the chorus sample used in The Light) was written by Bobby Caldwell and his website doesn't list any other samples/cover versions of the song...
