pointed on one end... flat on the other...so the hammer doesnt smash my hand...

I keep them trimmed really short, so they are below the end of my fingers. Between working on a computer keyboard, playing guitar and violin, and yard work..long fingernails just don't work for me.

They are also oval, trimmed very short so there is no chance that they will scratch delicate tissues...
