I want my first letter in once upon a time to be pretty and stuff...I can't explain it but it's how all fairy tales begin with the first letter all exagerated.

you just use the 'drop caps' setting or something like that and it does it for you - its easy too, here is a guide:

People will probably tell you to set the font size, but that's not going to get you where you want to be. What you want to replicate is an art I think was called "Illuminating".

What you do is get into some kind of graphics program, like Paint, and make the image you want the first letter to be like. Then you imbed the image into the Word document, and adjust the size and shape of the image to your taste. Such as make and imbed a picture of an elaborate "O" and then start typing after the picture "nce upon a time."

i have seen a font that comes with words but not everybody gets it. but there should be a font that has what your looking for that you can download but im not sure how the downloading it into words works you may be able to find a way if you look hard. if you have adobe check the first site i listed below but the other ones im not sure about. my sis used to send me a website that had really cool fonts but i cant remeber them right now i wished i knew so i could dowload some of them too lol well good luck in finding them also try yahoo...ing (lol) "fonts" there should be a tun of sites too look at

Go to insert, picture, word art, and pick the one you want, and type the letter.
