I know the basic things to get for my coming baby like crib, stroller, diapers and other stuff. But what should I get that is not a basic item like the one I mentioned. She's a girl.

baby book to record all of her milestones. swing ,must have all babies love them, body position-er for baby to keep her on her back while sleeping, destine trust she will get a diaper rash and parents forget to buy it, infant Tylenol for fevers when cant go pick some up at 3 in the morning. you could ask a friend or parent who have kids to go shopping with you that can pick out things you will need. you can email me and i will send you list of every thing you will need. congrats and enjoy, she will grow up fast.

Baby's don't really need much...you can probably get away with the basics for most items.

However, I did splurge and buy a few items that helped my two 'lil ones calm down during a colciky crying fit:

Baby swing/ papasan - sometimes this is the only thing that works when the baby just won't stop crying or just won't falls asleep!

Baby sling - invaluable, especially if you're trying to soothe a crying baby

Other splurges (more for myself than the baby!) include
a really cool diaper bag - makes you feel so much better when you're out and about with the baby

I would suggest that you buy a toy of some kind to hang on the carseat handle to keep the baby occupied while in the car and shopping, they make all kinds some rattle, play music, or just have bright colors.

I also think that you should buy a mirror to install in the car, they have 2 kinds that I know of, one that sticks to the glass of the window and another that goes over the back of your cars seat (I think the second is better and is usually bigger). But that way you can keep an eye on the baby while driving so when she starts crying you can make sure everything is ok and even just check on her when she is being too quiet, plus it's always nice to be able to keep an eye on them.

Every one is different and need different things.
My girlfriend and I had a baby at the same time and theres thing that work for her and not me and visa versa.
My advise would be to save money and wait till the baby is born to see what you need as I bought alot of things that I thought I would use but havnt and it has been a waste of money.
congrats!!!

Get a "Baby diary". Write your thoughts each day or week as you take care of her. Years from now, present the book to her. Read through it together. Makes for some great memories.

Babies dont need much really, its the things that make looking after them and transporting them around easily that will make the difference. as long as you have all the little things to keep her clean and warm and feeling comfortable, you will be fine. the one thing my husband finds is a savior for him ( we have 3 boys) is a baby sling. a very simple, slightly stretchy material that you can quickly throw on and slip her into. it will keep your hands free and you will feel comfortable that you wont drop her and she will feel nicely snuggled into you, just like when she was in mums tummy. thay are easy to find and they sell them on ebay for about $30 dollars ( aussie dollars that is.) you will very quickly figure the rest out by trial and error once she is born.

I have a goddaughter who is 9 months old. The things we've used the most so far are onesies, socks, rattles (toys that make noise...and are bright colors) and cds/dvds with music. She LOVES music. Also, be prepared to be WIPED OUT after playing with her! Also, get outlet covers and clamps to keep cabinets closed... you'll need them before you know it! GOOD LUCK!!!

what saved my life was dr. browns bottles. i wasnt able to breastfeed and my son had bad colic and these bottles saved my life. lots of bibs because before you know it she will be drowling like other. there is this stuff called Baby Spritz® Diaper Rash Spray from one step ahead its way better then the ointment because you dont have to rub it on and off. check out one step ahead they have lots of different stuff
good luck and take lots of pictures because they get big quick
