I don't know what to do anymore. My wife and I had a contract with Fitworks in Cleveland, but we now live in Columbus. One of the ways you could get out of your contract was if you moved outside of a 25 mile radius from any Fitworks Facility. We have met this criteria. In order to show proof that you have moved my contract states "You agree to provide any two of the following as proof of relocation: A current and valid lease, a bank statement or credit card bill, a utility bill, or a yellow change of address label provided by the post office."
The first docs I sent were a copy of our lease, and a letter from the utility company stating that we had established service. 3 weeks goes by and I get a letter from ASF stating that these are not valid docs because our landlord's signature was not on the lease, and that I sent a letter from the utility company and not a "bill." Well excuse me, but you usually don't see a bill for at least a month after you move! I'll follow up.........

So then I sent in an actual utility bill, and a yellow post office forwarding address sticker.....a couple weeks goes by and they send a letter again stating that they could accept the utility bill, but not the fowarding sticker because it only had the last name, and not the first name on it! Unbelievable, right? After chewing out the customer service supervisor on the phone at ASF, she tells me that if I can fax her a copy of a credit card bill that it would suffice. So I fax the credit card bill. Today I get a letter saying that because my wife had a contract (even though it was signed by me in her behalf) that she now needs to send in all this info! These people just won't let me out of my contract, and they can keep taking money out of my account! I don't know what to do anymore. I've filed a complaint with the BBB, but haven't got a response yet. Btw, no where in my contract does it state the post office slip had to have both the first AND last name listed. Shady shady

Definitely stop paying them, even if that takes canceling a credit card or bank account.

Pay an attorney fifty bucks to call them for you.

Seriously, hire an attorney to make a call and maybe write a letter. They really don't care if you moved or for that matter if you ever came in when you lived nearby. They just want your money.
