For some reason, I think that (my) leftover cooking tastes better than fresh food because for some reason, the flavor just marinates overnight.

I totally agree about certain things - pasta way better the next day, Chinese too...but burritos and burgers better the first day.

The flavors begin to marry even more and blend out. Chili is like that too. In fact there are lots of food like that. When you make chicken salad it tastes better after it is there overnight. Not everything tho, scrambled egg are not good leftover LOL...

SOME foods, like chili or spaghetti sauce IS better the next day after the seasonings have had time to be absorbed, but MOST, in my opinion, are better the first day... =)

*Fresh food is tastier any day ; but yes, some foods do taste better after marinating overnight !!!!!!!!!!

I think you have a point. I have heard people say that about soups, stews, goulash, etc.

My cooking isn't that great the first time, so sitting does it no good. LOL
