The normal temperature of the body taken orally (By mouth) should be between 97.5 to 99.5 degrees F. Rectal (through the anus) temperature is ususally 0.5 to 1.0 degrees F higher than orally, and axillary (under the armpit) is about 0.5 degress F lower than orally.
