Would most of the able bodied go to work at any available job or stay home & starve ?

this is a loaded question especially in a website like this that mainly entertains the unemployed but I saw your question & know that many would starve because there are over 3 generations of people in the US who have never worked and expect to be catered to. as for losing our unemployment and social security benefits we paid into, that may be the future and that's okay cause nature wants the strong to survive and unfortunately that is no longer the case anymore with many, including me, cause without penicillin i would have died 3 years ago. just my 2-cents

OMG END WELFARE! Then some people would have to go out and work for a living like the rest of us! Don't get me wrong, welfare is a good thing for those who need it, but a lot of people take advantage. Why is it that I see some people on welfare with $400 dollar purses, expensive clothes, hairstyles, and always have their nails perfectly manicured. Most people don't understand that welfare is there to help you until you get a job and can help yourself! It's not a career choice! I have a friend whose sister works for the Welfare Department. Some parents are actually proud when their kids turn 18 and they go to the office to open their own case. It's downright shameful! I would want something better for my children! I would want them to go to school and better themselves, not live in the ghetto for the rest of their life! Anyone who defends living his or her whole life in the ghetto doesn’t know any better. If one is taught that this is the way to live, he or she does not know any better. Lack of information and education play a major role in people not being motivated to get off of welfare and live a better life.

Social security is for the elderly who have already given there dues, unemployment should only last 6 months then its get a job or else, welfare is mostly for low income working family's who are not able to do much better. But I see your point some are lazy but not all.

they will if this scam called "comprehensive immigration bill" passes.we will have over 60 million illegals becoming legal and sucking on the government tit!
