Case Sensitive Meaning

2016-10-19 07:48:20 · answer #2 · answered by ? 4 · 0 0

It's funny that everybody's answers are about passwords and computers. Case sensitive could also mean "according to the circumstances of this particular case." So, for example, instead of generalizing about a whole group of, say, troubled youth, you could say that these kids are in need of education, case sensitive. In other words, in need of education, but to varying degrees depending on each kid.

Lets say your password is "lucky" and the program you are using is case sensitive. This word "case" refers to either upper case (capital letters) or lower case.

So, if you type "lucky" as "LUCKY" or "Lucky" it might not work even if you used the right word. The program detects whether you have not only typed the correct password, but also whether you type it in the right case. Hope that helps.

Case sensitive means recognising a difference between upper and lower case, i.e. if there is NO difference between upper and lower cases, then you're working with a 26 letter alphabet for your password, if the password programme is case-sensitive, then you're basically working with a 52 letter alphabet, i.e. there is a difference between "a" and "A".

It means that the program is checking to see if your UPPER CASE (capital letters) and lower case letters match the UPPER and lower case letters in the password. If the field is case sensitive, you have to have the CAPS in the right places.

case sensitive means you have to enter a word EXACTLY as you originally entered it. If you spelled a word using all upper case letters thats exactly how you have to type that word in again. If you Capitalized the first letter but left everything else lower case thats exactly how you have to enter it.

A case sensitive password is one that recognizes CaPiTaLs and lower case letters as different letters. In other words, PASSWORD would be different than password.

That is like Capital C as opposed to little c or capital AR as opposed to little ar. So if you make a password like Scotty10 then you must always use the capital S and little letters for the cotty and then add the 10.

Means that capital letters are different than lower case letters

If your password is: "Giant Anus" and you type "GIANT ANUS" then the passwords will not match.
In order to have matching passwords, you would need to have matching case on the letters (Capital "G" and "A" and lower case for the rest.)

PS: I really hope your password is not Giant Anus because that's not a very good password.

Case sensitive means either upper or lower case letters. If you type your password like this: password and you type it PASSWORD, it may not be accepted.
