Funny how now it has went up so much, and they dont even try to give us reasons anymore. What else has almost tripled in that time? If your wage in 2003 was 11.35 and it went up like the gas prices, it would be almost 34 dollars an hour now! Has anyone else felt the crunch? We are going nowhere for memorial day now. The radio says ah people are still doing what they want, its not stopping people. Is it stopping you?

Hell yes, I feel the crunch of the price of gas! I feel it in damn near every aspect of my life. I am a single mother, raising a teenager. No child support, no public assistance of any kind. While the price of gas goes up, so do the prices of groceries, medicine, clothing, and utilities. Luxuries like a trip to the movie or a lunch out with my son are a thing of the past. I have worked hard to get ahead in my life and now I have to dip into my savings to help pay the bills. I am sure I am not the only one either. Something has to give and soon!

I had to get a smaller car and drive a lot more careful because I no longer have the luxury of a feeling of added safety you get in a large vehicle. Still, the price of gas for a lot of people is beyond reach. People keep talking about the oil companies and their profits, but no one is willing to do anything about it such as creating more alternative fuels which would create competition and the price of gas would naturally go down. As long as there is a monopoly by the oil industry then the price of gas will stay up........

I don't go anywhere unless I absolutely have to. I live in a village with a population of about 600 and located 12 miles from anywhere. The only stores I can walk to are ridiculously overpriced ($1.90 for a 2-litre pepsi) When I do start my car which, gets 15mpg, I've learned that I need to do as much as possible. Because it could be a while before I can afford to go again. By the way reg. unleaded was $3.50/gal. earlier today. 8 years ago when I bought my car I was buying gas for 89 cents/gal. But Bush cut taxes. whoopty doodoo

The war in Iraq has a LOT less to do with the price of gas than these factors:

The continued popularity of guzzlers like Hummers and Range Rovers.

Increased demand for oil by the rapidly-industrializing Chinese economy.

Venezuela's recent nationalization of foreign oil investments.

Refusal by Congress to admit that we need to explore ANWAR and offshore oil reserves.

Domestic oil refineries are operating at almost full capacity-yet there are fewer refineries trying to produce more gasoline Today than there were 20 years ago.

These prices are here to stay. They no longer have very much to do with the war.

I do, I have been given my license in NJ whilst i became 17 in 1965, and gas became 28 cents a gallon, I used to tell them $3.00 well worth and that could desire to fill my tank, and that they might additionally verify the oil and wash the domicile windows. I do bear in mind the gas wars, and the gas strains from the capability shortage in 1973, I bear in mind sitting in line for 3 hours to get a nil.5-tank of gas, and it became only 3 ranges exterior. Even after that, it became nevertheless only 40-one cents a gallon, and that i bear in mind them asserting this is going to possibly on no account value $a million.00 a gallon. the backside i will bear in mind is 28 cents a gallon, and that became in October, 1965. The 40-one cents a gallon became in January, 1974.

It is stopping me somewhat. I try to do all of my running around at once instead of taking many small trips.

What I find funny is how people constantly pointed to Bush and the Republican held congress as the reason behind high gas prices a year ago. Now that the Dems are in control you don't hear squat. Coincidence...?

in CA gas was about 2.25 before the war started. now its usually between 2.10-2.90, therefore the prices have not tripled. besides maybe you should place some blame on your liberal politicans because they want us to continue being dependent on the middle east for oil instead of drilling our own, ANWR for example, would give us so much oil and dramatically lower the prices, but no the hippies dont wanna...
