I haven't gotten my lip pierced but my friend did (all though she doesn't have it anymore, she took it out and it closed up) but she said it didn't hurt when she did it (she did it herself.) If you're going to do it yourself, use a frozen water bottle and hold it against the spot you're going to pierce. Since it numbs the spot, when you stick the needle in, you shouldn't feel anything. I'm not sure if it does or doesn't hurt when you get it done professionally. It probably won't, but it may later.

I had mine pierced last year, and it only hurts a little bit when they actually pierce it. It's like a pinch, that's all. Afterwards, it feels slightly sore for a few minutes. About ten minutes after I had mine pierced it didn't hurt at all. You have to get used to eating, and you may bite the stud or ring a couple times, but otherwise it's so easy. Mine never got infected or anything and I don't have to mess with it much, I love it. Make sure that you clean it twice a day with a salt water solution, use mouth wash after each meal, and brush your teeth a little more than usual for the first week. Your supposed to leave the thing they pierce it with in for at least four weeks, but I took mine out after about two and nothing happened.
It's really simple, and it doesn't hurt at all really. I though it would hurt a lot more than it did, and that's the attitude to have when you get it done.
If you like it, go for it, don't be afraid, you'll love it! And if you ever want to take it out, it doesn't leave a scar unless you've stretched it.

dude do it. Lip peircings look pretty awesome and... if you have a mild tolerance for pain you'll be fine. Just hurts for a few days and then its fine. Just clean it every day and dont mess with it so it doesnt get infected.

yep. got the snakebite. Really cool. Kinda hurt, but alright with pain. if someones hurt that bad, then that person prolly did a bad job. If your gonna do it on ur own, make sure u do it right.

hurts a little but not much. kinda feels like a pinch. hurts a lot less than getting your tongue done.
