The video card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150229

I have an eMachines T5226 and I was told by some people that it would work fine on my computer but I just want to make sure that my power supply is good enough. Also would it be a noticeable upgrade from the video card that it came with?(Intel GMA 950)

That would be an awesome upgrade to your integrated graphics.
The card may consume about 40watts. I'm not so sure if your PC still has enough juice for the 8600GT. If you've got a strong 350 watter there, it might work. BUT the power supply could run HOT at FULL LOAD. If you decide to upgrade the power supply consider something like this w/ dual +12V rails:

Higher rated power supply runs cooler and lasts longer.

nvidia is probably one of the best companies you can get cards from. i dont know about /intel displays, but id assume that nvidia would be better. and i also doubt that a nvidia geforce card will overpower your pc. if in doubt, you can always go into your local electronics store (bestbuy, comp usa, etc.) and ask them for advice
