Corgiesrules: Sorry it wasn't apparent, but the question is purely philosophical.
Tennisrules: It may be better for all if you just stuck to questions with words you understand.
Thanx to everyone else!!!! I was beginning to wonder whether anyone was interested in the actual question :-)

SAMI: good point!!
MdGreg: Hi, again!! Thanx!! I think some of the other alluded to this as well (i.e., Enki, HowardRoark). I didn't realize that before I thought up my mushy question here :-). Definitely can see it.

one of the BEST questions Ive ever encountered!
since a Lost love has been experienced..
it's never barren, the flower has bloomed & withered..
but time has come to let it go.
the memory & the hurt caused by the loss may remain..
but eventually the previous will prevail.
unrequited love is just unfortunate..
just always remember: Things not meant for you will never be yours.
Unexpressed love is the most lonely, for yourself has deserted your ownself...
for no amount of Love can be inhibitted, unless destiny thwarts it.
unpassionate love on the other hand, is simply on hybernation.
which is the most desolate-
the chance you've lost.... the time you wasted...
the unexpressed love.. will always be unrequited.

Lust pretending to be love.
A long time ago I thought that love was something that you reserved for some special set of people that you had judged worthy of it.
After a while I got to thinking about what Jesus had said about turning the other cheek and loving our neighbor I put the two together and realized that he had made no exceptions in these statements. It became obvious to me that he intended that we exclude no one from the love that we are supposed to be giving. I started thinking about my idea of love and suddenly realized that I had not been loving anyone at all. I had simply been judging everyone and every thing.
Judging someone worthy of love is not love, it is only judgment. I actually started to cry when I realized this. I saw just how much of my life I had wasted being judgmental, thinking of myself as a Christian, when I was actually doing just the opposite of what Jesus had asked us to do.
I thought about the verse judge not lest ye be judged, and I understood it for the first time.
I realized that I have a lot of catching up to do. So many opportunities were wasted. I now try to apply the love that I have for the world in a universal way like Jesus asks us to do.
If I start to feel afraid and think that I see someone that I should not love because of something I have thought or heard I try to catch my mistake as soon as possible. I tell myself that I have forgot the truth and have fallen for the same old trick that had cost me so many opportunities to be loving in the past. The horror of this realization is often all that is necessary to bring me back to my senses and make me drop the judgmental nonsense I was thinking.
I still have a lot to learn about love, but at least I’m making progress.
Love and blessings
Your brother

Unrequited; because it seems pitiful for the suitor who's trying to court someone who doesn't love them back. You can't really blame them for trying, it's just that luck and fate wasn't on their side. Unrequited lovers (if they're smart) will eventually give up and find someone else, and then the old love might realise what they gave up, leading to a lost love. Unrequited could be all the others mixed together.

Unexpressed love. It's a kind of emotional stinginess that
can fester for a lifetime. If it's truly unconditional, then
expressing it should be joyous and not dependent upon
reciprocation. Even if the object of affection doesn't feel
the same way, he or she will always know in the back of
their minds that someone loved them. It's a lot more
valuable than you might think.

I think lost love is the most desolate out of all of these.
Having said this though, I don't believe two intelligent human beings can just wake up one day and say "I don't love you anymore" or "my love for you is lost". I really don't believe that at all. I believe marriage and love is a beautiful sacred special holy thing and I believe it needs to be worked on and protected and cherished and looked after.

Desolate in being empty ...
Lost love means it's gone. It's empty.
Unrequited love is when one side is blossoming love and the other isn't ... so love is there ... it's not empty.
Unexpressed love ... again, love is there it's just not flowing ... however, it's hindering intimacy.
Unpassionate love ... well, passion ebbs and flows in all relations ... and intimacy is the most important component of love ... which this implies still is there.
So I guess I'll have the say "Lost love" is the most desolate.

I would say the worse is unrequited love..............
I think anyone that has liked another to find that they do not share the same feelings is painful to the heart and the soul and core of the persons being.
I believe in the saying if you love someone set them free if they come back to you it was meant to be................
People waste so much valuable time in liking the wrong people Love should be given freely and easliy..................
Never chase it....................
I rather be alone then with the wrong person.....................
