This is the 3rd time I had a yeast infection in three months. I'm 23 weeks pregnant. The dr. told me to use Monistat 3, I've used it 2 times already. The 1st time after using, it went away for about 2 weeks, came back. Tried again, went away and came back after another 2-3 weeks. Now I have it again. I called the doc for a prescription, but they want to check me out 2morrow. Has anyone ever went through this? With my 1st pregnancy I also had a yeast infection, but I had a different gyno, and she gave me a prescription for it, used it and it went away for the entire pregnancy.

I went through the exact same thing while I was pregnant last year. It happened on and off throughout my entire pregnancy. Finally one of the doctors in my OBGYN practice gave me a RX (can't remember the name but it's only one pill.) and it cleared up right away. Most doctors won't prescribe that RX because its one that hasn't been proven OK to use in pregnancy... so good luck! My concern was that a baby can get thrush (a "yeast infection" of the mouth) if it's delivered vaginally when you have an infection. Hope I helped!

I went through it. I kept a UTI when I was pregnant for some reason I still don't understand. I would take my antibiotics, and then get a yeast infection. Vicious cycle it was. One or the other.

Ask your doctor if he knows what may have been prescribed to you by your former gyno and get it again. It apparently worked before, so no harm in trying it again. Good luck.

Also, I tried vinegar. My mom swore by it, but it did nothing to ease how uncomfortable I was. Anything is worth a shot if you are really miserable, though.

Do you wear cotton panties? I use to get yeast infections constantly. My doctor asked me to try cotton underwear Since then, over 30 years I could count the number of yeast infections on one hand.

I did have a yeast infection about six months ago from taking antibiotics. I used Monistat and still had it a week later. I got a different one with a different ingredient and it cleared up fine.

I am actually on monistat right now. My doctor recommended the 5 or 7 day ones though and I've also had that recommended before I was pregnant. I guess they think that maybe the 3 day doesn't get it all. That's what I'd suggest. I've always used the 5 day in the past and have been fine but this time I had to use the 7 because the store was out of 5 day. Good luck and hopefully they'll go away soon!!

my doc says use only the 7 day treatments but maybe ur doc is right. tell him again that the 3day treatments arent helpful and ask if maybe a 7 day treatment would work better.

if you dont already, wear loose clothes and cotton undies.
