I went back and read the 34 questions you've asked since a member of answers... as well as watched the video... how come you never mention owning the bike in the wreck? Do you even know what kind of bike it was???? I bet not.
You are some idiot who pretends he has a harley and found this video and wanted to show it off.
If in fact that was you in the video... you can tell me what kind of bike it was that wrecked?????
I didn't think so!

Hmmm, let's see - this video has been out for almost a year, and you're just now posting your question? Not only that, but when it first appeared on the net, it was widely disseminated and discussed on all the H-D forums. You don't say where it happened (it was in Deal's Gap, aka The Dragon), and your statements of "he totally cut me off," I leaned...with everything I had," "I consider myself an expert rider," etc. lead me to believe you are one of those people who like to bash Harleys and Harley riders (something akin to p-nis envy, perhaps), as the video clearly shows that the rider definitely screwed up, in so many ways - as was also discussed extensively on numerous Harley forums. At this point, I seriously doubt that the insurance claim is at issue (nearly a year later). Just another muck-raking attempt. I will say that following a motor home traveling at 15-20 mph (if that) which repeatedly crosses the double yellow, blocking the road (all of which is evidenced on the tape) is extremely frustrating, but is no excuse to pass in a no-passing zone, especially with a blind curve ahead. BTW, the H-D which went off the road (I agree with a previous poster, I bet you can't even identify the model, so I'm not naming it here) is more than capable of handling the curves into which he was heading at much higher speeds, the rider just freaked out and fixated on the ditch, thereby heading right into it - he braked going into the curve, there was no lean angle on the bike, and you can see his head "up and locked," not looking through the curve.
Thanks for a trip down memory lane, but I'm not buying your story. BTW, you'd be amazed at the number of H-D riders who also own different metric bikes (even a number who own sport bikes), and most H-D riders have ridden metrics before owning their H-Ds. I don't see any reason to bash somebody who enjoys an H-D, nor do I see any reason to bash somebody who rides any metric bike, be it a cruiser, sport bike, or whatever - hey, they're all on two wheels!

hmm...Experienced rider would have dragged the rear, but it didn't come out of the turn. The brake was placed on it. The bike could have made it and set up for the next turn in time. I'm going to go with inexperienced rider clause.
Also passing on the double yellow is against the law. Not to mention a blind turn.
Van is completely in the right of way.

Sorry, you can't use the tape as evidence.
The tape is being made from a car which is driving along in its lane. It looks like two motorcycles passed the car on the left, and one went into the ditch. I don't see how the people in the car are responsible for a couple of guys on motorcycles making a bad judgement call about when to pass.

Sorry about the bike. Bottom line you passed on the double yellow. That is a ticketable offence. I did not see where he "cut you off" it just looks like you made a bad decision and apparently got out of it woth your skin. Feel lucky and do not make that mistake again.

when i watched the tape, i saw a double yellow line. that means no passing, even if you ARE on a harley. you're lucky the rv didn't crash as well. your numb nuts decision nearly cost you your life, let alone your bike. i'm sorry the bike is wrecked, and i'm sure it was one heck of a nice scoot, but bro, you were in the wrong here.

sorry dude, but what i saw on the tape is that you passed the van on the turn on the left side and couldnt handly the turn. i wouldnt show this tape to your insurance because you here you motor rev up and you go off the road and into the ditch. i dont know what state you are from but all fifty states have this thing called a "motorcycle safety course" that can teach you how to turn in various senarios

You passed on a double line. Clearly your own mistake. Nice try tho, this video will be good for your license when they find out you passed on a double line on a curve.
