I'm 13 years old and I'm filming a movie for my tools for success class. Do you have any tips on memorizing lines because we need them memorized in about 3-4 days. Any tips for shooting it? Thanks.

I wrote the whole script myself and my brother will be filming it. We've already started making a boom mike and we might be making cue cards if people don't remember some of their lines. We're also using a clapper to cue the sound effects. Should we be using anything else as well?

Congratulations! Always understand the full story or point that you're supposed to get across and your role in it. If it's a scene, get mom or friends to read the other lines for you while you say yours. (If any of them are giving you tips or criticism that you can't handle or dont agree with, just thank them for their help and move on to someone else) Say the lines as many times as you can out loud. Always say them how you will say them on camera and don't be afraid to try saying the lines different ways, you never know what you might discover! Also remember that half of acting is reacting. Don't jump the gun on your lines just because you already know what you're going to say. Wait for your cue and react accordingly :-) If all else fails, keep the script close. You can glance at it between takes! They may even have cue cards! Break a leg!

You could actually have someone hold cue cards out of range of the camera. I have made school project movies many times, and this always works best. Just make sure the cue card holder is holding the card in the right spot for your actor's focus. If the actor is talking to the person next to them, you don't want the card holder standing behind the person with the camera. The focus would be off! :)

Are you using a digital camera? Just keep filming if you go up on your lines, and back up a bit in the scene. It's easy to edit.

Make sure to avoid reflecting objects. It'll ruin the whole effect of the movie.
