not like I look that much older than him. I am a very youthful woman so it does not look very drastic. I notice that we get a lot of stares when we are out, it's puzzling to me. To be honest, I did not think we would get so many stares because it is more accepted today for an older woman to be with a much younger man.

What do you think as to why so many stares? Is it that shocking?

Umm, and exactly why does it bother you?

For one thing, you're 55 years old. If you haven't learned by now that you shouldn't really give a hoot what others think about something as long as it makes you happy, then you'll probably never learn it at this point.

I would hope you know by now that life isn't about pleasing others to the detriment of pleasing yourself. Time becomes more precious with every passing day. It's foolish to carry around the baggage of worrying about what others think, particularly during the mature adult life stages.

For another thing, you should be strutting around like a peacock going, "Hell yeah, I'm 55 and I got this 30 year old stud, I am the cat's meow!"

If anything you should welcome the stares, because most of them are wondering what kind of mojo you got going on to get a younger man like that.

EDIT: Just viewed your pic and you are quite an attractive woman, I'd guess about mid-40ish if I didn't already know. I'd go out with you too, but then I'm 40 so I'm a little old for you! :D

I suppose it's also fair to note that women never completely lose ALL of their vanity concerns, no matter how old they are. ;-)

Didn't take this the wrong way I mean know disrespect!
You are more than likely a lady who enjoys the looks and stares, and depending on your body language when you r receiving those stares might be the reason for the stares(other than the obvious, 25yrs) You seem like a together person 55 attractive woman dating a 30 yr old internet savvy, pics on yahoo(with nice background), nice looking. They are starring because of you and you like the attention, Right? "So work it baby" Have fun with it. But I have no idea why you would want a "baby", 30 yr olds still have alot to learn.

First of all, good for you - dating a younger man! Have fun while you can! That being said, you look like you're in your 50's. You may ACT younger, but you look your age.

Just embrace it. You're an older woman dating a younger man: people will stare, just like they stare when you see a 55 year old guy with a younger woman. It goes against social mores and that's just how it is, so don't expect people not to stare.

Although it is becoming more and more common now a days, it is still some sort of tabu.

It is natural instinct of us humans to stair at something that is uncommon and or unusual for us.

I don't think everybody does it conscientiously though. Many do but to the majority it is simply something different.

Carry on and continue being happy... I know it might be uncomfortable at times but bleh, don't give it much attention.

Good on ya!!!

Are you sure it's more accepted? Sounds like people are having problems with it where you live. Move to New York- You can walk down the street hand in hand with an 80 year old tranvestite troll and nobody will give you a second look.

No body ever thinks they look their age,I looked at your picture and I guess you could pass for 45 it's hard to tell in that picture. You no you feel uncomfortable walking down the street with him if you didn't you wouldn't notice the stares. You do no he will brake your heart in a couple of years. The very same thing happened to
my mother-in law. She fell so in love with a man 30 years her Junior, 5 years later he left her and she never recovered from that experience. You might be happy now but you no what's coming. So for now be happy and don't worry about other people. If this guy makes you happy then good for you, just be careful of this guy and his motives.

Have you considered the stares are due
1. to the fact he is an attractive man.
2. you are an attractive woman.
3. you/he/both clothing draws attention.
4. they find you and your boyfriend interesting/something to talk about,
5. his/your/both actions are not a everyday event.

I would not be shocked, but takes a lot to shock me.

What ever the reason, you both are adults, it is his and your life, it is your choice and his choice.

They are only jealous. What can they say, you are both adults. The next time they stare give them something to stare at. Give your man a big sloppy kiss and go on with your life together.

Momma, Now, I got to be real , One of two things is going on here, Either you don't look as young as you claim or they may think. Oh, how nice, he's taking his mama out. Don't get mad at me, I'm just saying what the crowd is thinking. You asked!

Peace and Love

Just because it's more commone these days doesn't meant that society is going to accept it. People can be very judgemental. You shouldn't pay any attention to them. Who cares what other people think. As long as you're happy that's all that matters.
