Oil and water don't mix. Plain and simple.

My personal thought is that all of the hatred is only to appease the zealots of their party, the radicals and extremists. These people are usually the ones who pull the strings, so even if you are a moderate it is still political suicide to work so well with a member from another party.

good question.
after 9-11 the entire country came together, just like we did on Dec. 7th.

so what happened ? in one word - bush.
he did what no leader of a large and powerful country has Ever done in all of recorded history.
He divided his own nation while at war.

All other leaders through-out the centuries have always tried to unite there country during a time of war. Why ? Because a divided country is a weak country.

bush and his friends put politics first and deeply divided our great country during a war that could turn out to be the most important conflict this country has ever fought.

that would be One reason for a little animosity, don't ya think ?

It's a belief that costs lives either way...

I don't hate Republicans... I would not be able to have dinner at my friends house tonight!

I just can't always remember not to fight fire with fire...

One thing that I do try to point out though is that liberals and conservatives have a lot more in common than Democrats and Republicans...
It really does bother me that "liberal" is becoming such a device of slander for extremists who use the term to refer to anyone who isn't Jerry Falwell.

Because Democrats keep blacks & poor whites down, poor, and in their places, on the Democrat Plantation.
When we were so poor and trying to feed two kids, the Democrats raised our taxes.
Which was good.
I was so full of hate toward the Democrats that I worked 10 and 12 hours a day, seven days a week, for years.
But, our family ESCAPED THE DEMOCRAT PLANTATION.
But I still Hate the Commie Democrats with a Passion.

It's the news. The people who have been selected to be professionals have failed at their job.

Can't remember the guys name but back in the 20's he pretty much said that journalism should be left up to a certain block of scholars who advanced to doctors. People who were trained, but now we have Rosie O'Donnell on the air who reads crap on the Internet and claims it to be a valuable source.

I am not just bashing on Rosie here, but she has made one of the greatest examples of being an imbecile. She spreads hate, and that is all she spreads. She uses depression as her slogan.

Overall I do think journalism should be left up to the pro's... Not some Anchorman/woman who has a BA in Fine Arts.

Tara...that is where you are wrong...
It is not just beliefs...You have people in power executing real world policies that have real world consequences.

People feel powerless when their elected officials are not looking after them..or not producing results.

People need to see tangible results.

As a result...people will continue to vent.
Animosity is just a bi-product. But believe it or not...it is healthy for society to bit&*h and moan...Otherwise you will have Venezuela or Iran.

Because the Democrats are modified communists we recognize as socialists. This ideology is almost the opposite of the Republican viewpoint. So they are opposed to each other by their views on the way ahead for the country.

I suppose it is because certain beliefs of each party are in direct violation of the other's. And each party is more than certain that they are thinking the right way.

I really think the debate needs to be couched as being between capitalism versus socialism because that is what it truly is.

The two are diametrically opposed and there is no hybrid, socialism seeks to destroy the basis of capitalism, and capitalism just wants government to get out of business.

There are no liberals today, they are socialists, there are no conservatives today they are people who want government out of their lives, it really is that simple.

of course there are the myriad of variations such as communism and totalitarianism, but it is all part of socialism.
