You, sir are a smart man. Top astronomers in NASA and other high intellegence space programs and organizations around the globe ask this question. The Theory of "Black Holes" and the newest theory, "Worm Holes", originate from this exact question.
Hope this was of some help to you, my good man.
God Bless you and all your loved ones, sir!

Space is not curved.
Space extends straight out for a minimum of 40 Billion Light Years in all directions from us. That is as far as we can see with our present level of optical and radio telescope equipment. Space doesn't end there...we just can't see anyu farther than that with what we have to see with...
If you are going to travel somewhere, you must first take off your seat belt which is holding you safely in the same spot so you don't go banging around inside your vehicle. Travel in space is simple...you fire off the rocket propulsion system for a spell and then drift for a long time. you will eventually reach your destination wherever it might be. There are no curvatures to deal with, only those in someone else's mind.

Generally no. If you are in orbit then yes pretty much since an orbit is just going in a straight path along the curved space.

Right now it's just a theory, the nice thing about theory's is that they stand until proven wrong. Right now there is not enough data to prove conclusively if space is curved.

seriously,,why would space be curved?and why would you end up where you started traveling in a straight line.I think that whole theory probably came from a comic book somewhere.

Maybe -- if you can go in a straight line for 400 billion years at the speed of light.

Nice question.... but think about this...... What is beyond the universe???
What im saying is in the early days man thinks they are going to fall in the edges of the earth... and nothing beyond it. the universe cant be endless.. and if it is expanding... where is it expanding in to (expanding into time?) make you wonder

If anybody answers this with what seems like a knowledgeable answer, they're full of it. It's beyond our experimental experience.
