I have become infected with a trojan / password stealer called " Topig" by Spybot.
Amazingly it throws up the most realistic of urls and pages on entering ebay.com and paypal.com
It will not even allow you to proceed in the security area to post a report.
I can enter ebay.com via ebay.ca or .uk
( the ebay,uk has a " safety" area which does not have much except for how wonderful ebay and how they are looking out for you.
Cultural diffirences I guess - polite - there does not seem to be an area to post problems to ebay.uk.

Adaware does not spot it.
AVG is the antivirus I would not exprect it to find it >
Spybot finds it. Cannot remove. Asks if it can remove at startup. Runs the scan at startup and cannot remove it.
The trend program cannot find it.
It places two files in the windows/temp which I have obliterated manually.
On reboot they are back.
There is a manual registry repair fix i found on a forum.
Those lines were not there.
I tried hjiack this and spotted noth

OK, there are several things you need to do:

1) turn **off** System Restore. You do this by going to Accessories..System Tools..System Restore. Turn this off--it's most often not needed and is a place where viruses hide.

2) I assume you're running Windows XP. Turn off your computer and re-start it in safe mode (which you do by repeatedly pressing either F5 or F8 just after you turn the power back on--you'll get a menu asking you how you want to start up). Once you've booted into safe mode, run the AVG software (make sure your definitions are up to date).

3) Reboot your computer normally. If you're still having problems, continue with the following:

4) Go to
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/progr...
and download HiJackThis. Run the program, which will create a log file. Go to

http://forums.spywareinfo.com/

and post your HiJackThis log. You will get an extremely rapid, very precise answer as to whether or not you still have any infections and, if so, exactly what to do.

6) After everything is all cleaned up I recommend installing
SpywareTerminator:

Good luck!

It is not a double standard at all. The term wife stealer comes from the fact that there is a type of woman who deliberately target other women's men because they gain a great deal of pleasure and self satisfaction knowing they can do it. Men tend to be simply led by their penis's a fact that these type of women take Advantage of.

You can run Kaspersky free "online scanner", direct from the servers of Kaspersky, Lab., Russia. No conflict with your exisiting antivirus.

http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner

The scanner will find this virus and kill. Scan can take upto two hours depending on how many running processes you have and how many program you have installed on your pc.

try running ccleaner
also try restoring your pc to a date before you got this trojan
and try avg
if that doesn't work, look at the address spybot gives for it and delete it manually
