No. The mistake was not voting in enough Democrats so that they could override presidential vetoes. There are still too many Republicans in Congress.

Yes and no.

I think the repubs in congress needed a wake up call, they are corrupt, just like the dems, they only worry about re-election just like the dems, they are in it for the money, just like the dems.

But the fact that the dems are controlled and run by SOCIALISTS make it a serious mistake, and I am fairly well convinced that if AMerica knew about the Progressive Caucus and the international socialists, that the vote would have not gone the way it did.

AMericans will reject socialism, if they know. WOuldn't it be nice if the media would do their jobs?

Mistake or not, they are already self-destructing. Their most recent fiascos, the military spending bill tied to troop withdrawl and the amnesty for illegal immigrants are imploding under the glare of common sense. Their candidates are in disarray. The votors may have had a brain cramp in '06, but they will hopefully see through the democrat agenda in 2008.

I'd answer, but I haven't yet seen actual liberals get power.

Yes... it was a mistake for America to vote their conscience...

Who are these "liberals" that we voted for???
The only liberal is Pelosi really... everything that the dems put through has at least 30 Republican names on it as well...

Quit trying to be so devisive... united we stand!

As a republican, I don't think it was a mistake. I think that voting democrats in, shows the republican party that we are sick and tired of them not doing their jobs. It seems that most republicans are liberals anyway, so why not vote for a democrat? We really aren't given a choice anymore. Either a liberal republican or a regular democrat. If Republicans can quit voting for liberal issues, such as amnesty for illegal aliens, then maybe they can win some elections.

No. Had they not won in '06, they'd definitely win in '08. We have a fighting chance this way.

I don’t think it was a mistake – I think unfortunately they took the message wrong for a mandate and the stupid republicans don’t seem to have gotten the message at all.

Definitely!
They have NO NEW IDEAS.
They just complain and drum up false or specious arguments to forward their leftist / socialist / Marxist agenda.
I didn't vote for any so don't blame me!
