A lot of people don't like these methods because they say that it is noisy, kills animals (specifically birds), and can cause depression because of the constant droning of the noise. Also, if you don't live in an area that gets enough wind to produce enough electricity, then it might not be worth it. Also, they don't generate enough electricity for more than a few hundred people.
The pros of the turbines are that they contain free energy for you to join. It is as clean as you can get, right up there with solar panels. People say it's an eyesore, but I don't see what's so bad about looking at them.
Sure the cons outnumber the pros, but it is still something everyone should consider.
