im trying to download java from java.com but a window keeps popping up saying that my proxy settings wont allow me to download java!?

Tools, Internet options, connection, lan settings (bottom of window) then select "Automaticaly detect lan settings

On Mozilla Firefox, circulate to techniques>thoughts>more suitable>community and press the Settings... button next to "Configure how Firefox connects to the internet". choose for "No proxy" and press the two ok buttons. observe: this placing basically impacts Firefox, and the internet Explorer settings will configure different browsers (IE, Opera, Safari or Chrome) yet no longer Firefox.
