(like most ... 4 years of college, then 4 more years studying in that speciality)..... Is there any way for me to cut that time in half? Say, suppose i go to one of those crappy "one year colleges" .... and attain a degree that way... could i then, enroll to finish the last 4 years of school? (to go for a masters/field of specialty?) are the 'degrees' attained by those goofy "one year," "or two year" 'colleges accepted by larger universities, IF the degree attianed is relevant to course of study that will be pursued?
(Did that make.... ANY sense?....

... seeing as how the first 2 years are just general classes anyways, and the last 2 are your "pre-whatever." is that at all by any means possible?
Truth be told, as noted from previous questions.... im adhd... so 4 years of school just to complete a "pre-whatever" degree isnt really suitable, i'd get bored and quit half-way thru. BUT 4 years earning the MS or whatever I COULD get through.... so, my question is... if i went to a crappy 1yr or 2 yr college... and earned a degree that way... would it be accepted by a larger university as appropriate schooling? I'm smart enough to be able to go straight into studying the... (field i'm pursuing ascareer choice, shall is say?), but... i also know that it requires a TON of learning and schooling.... that i do not have presently, and that i need. So, is it a possiblilty?

If not, i guess i'll just have to borrow a normal persons brain for about 4years....

Sorry. Only way to get the full degree is to do the full 8yrs. Unless you take extra classes, etc. and work through summer. Then you'll finish a few years earlier.

You will not get into graduate school with a degree from a "crappy one yr. school". You will also not have the knowledge you need . Go to the school you want to attend and talk to them. See if it possible to complete the 4 yrs in maye 3 years...When i went to college, I shortened my time there by taking what were called CLEP tests. They were given several times a year and could be taken in one subject at a time or a cluster of 5 subjects...all for a fee. This was a national program. If a certain score was earned on the CLEP test, the student received credit for that course without having to take the course. Thwre may also e other accelerated peograms available, but in general, you gotta do it the old fashioned way. Go, ask, get the straight story, then get the BEST possible education you can get.

You must be kidding!!!! What do you think getting a degree gets you? It may get you a job but you still must be proficient at that job! You're degree means nothing after you get the job, what you have learned in the process does. Getting "c" at Yale is not as impressive as getting "A" at a "lesser school. There are no short cuts. If the field you are interested in takes 8 years to complete then spend the time learning. Or you can go to a crappy school and end up with a crappy career!

Some subjects maybe you can challenge the course, may cut down on some of the general knowledge type courses.
For the balance try to do a 5 day week all day, same as regular school and hope you don't get too piled up of homework. Do summers, and talk to someone in the Field of your choice as maybe they have some tips in the education part.
Do it right the 1st time, cause it is to hard to go back and do it over again.

Maybe if you said the exact degrees you want to pursue, that would help--for example, I know that there are fast-track masters programs for psychology and library science. In order to apply for graduate school, though, you would need a bachelor's, not an associate's degree.

I'm enrolled in a program that will allow me to get both my BS and MS in Elec. Engineering in about 5.5 years.. and its from one of the better engineering school in the States too.

It depends on what specifically you want to get in to?
