Like you feel like you can't do anything right anymore because you messed up on several tests lately... and you're usually a person who gets high marks... Like I just feel that it's a big blow to my self-esteem since I'm not a confident person (I always feel that everybody else is better than me) and I feel that academics is the only thing I can excel in... but now, I can't even do that right anymore...

Hey, don't get yourself too down now. No one likes to get bad grades; it's human nature to not want to execute actions and receive poor results. By the looks of it, the end of the school year is approaching - so by now, your mind is already drifting off to different places and thinking about summer (for most people, that is). For you, that may not be the case, but maybe it's just the fact that school is ending soon that is diverting your attention. Maybe you also have gotten side-tracked with something and can't seem to focus too well in class...whether it be someone you're thinking about (ex: a crush), issues at home with your family, your job, etc.

No one is perfect, remember that. No one is going to be able to pass every test they come across, no one is going to be able to accomplish everything successfully the first time. We all have flaws, that's what makes us human. Don't worry about it, it's not like those past couple of tests were life-altering events (unless they were finals or SATs or something). Whatever happens, happens - not much you can do or change.

You also have to remember that EVERYONE has their strengths and weaknesses. Just keep looking, you will find more things than just academics in which that you will be able to excel.

Just take a deep breath and sort out everything one at a time, don't rush and go too fast. You need to take life nice and slowly sometimes. The standards that have been set in society today are pretty demanding, so don't get to stressed out over those tests. Besides, as long as you know the material and know what you did wrong, that's all that matters. You've learned from your mistakes and you hopefully won't make them again. Those numbers don't really mean much. If you think they do and you are able to prove yourself otherwise, then that's what matters the most.

People won't look at you differently. Your parents will still love you, your friends will still like you. If they don't, then there's something seriously wrong with them. If you get a bad grade, you get a bad grade - **** happens.

Try not to be so pessimistic (not trying to sound negative or anything) and don't worry about the little things in life. There's more to it than just getting good grades :-)

Hope this helps a bit.

I have TOTALLY felt that way before? I am not an artistic or athletic person, but I do excel in school and so that has always been my area of confidence and expertise. It is what I do well. There have been times when I have struggled with a test or with a class in general and it is hard not to let it affect my self-esteem. I start feeling like maybe I'm not as smart as I thought, and without that they what am I good at? The thing I have to remember is first of all, one test or one class does not determine my overall success in school. I have always bounced back. Also, sometimes you have to let those thoughts go in order to succeed again, because you can really put too much pressure on yourself and end up in another failure because of that! Second of all, and most importantly, my self-worth is not based on how well I do in school. Yes I take pride in doing well, but if I fail it doesn't mean that people don't love me and it certainly doesn't mean I don't love myself. I have friends and family and all kinds of great qualities that make me a person of value. In any case, you are totally entitled to your feelings right now, but I hope that you will realize that are a great person regardless of your marks, and that you will surely get past this little funk. Good luck!

You have assumed that your value as a person is provided by the marks you get. That is something a little complicated, altough it is not true. For. Ex. Einstein cuoldn't go trough an exam and then he became a great genius. The underlying fact is that there is probable a message on that marks, dare to read it. May be it is a positive one. It surely is, may be you can start thinking on changing the way you offer your self to be loved. I can say that, the main issue here is that you know already that you can be loved in a different way, but you don't know already wich one. May be friendship or love are being borned in your life. Take care.

Don't be so hard on yourself. Sometimes things come along that we don't do as well at as we're used to and I know it's a big blow to your ego and self esteem. Keep studying, be proud of yourself for what you have accomplished and will accomplish again. You are just going through a little bump in the road but all will be fine. I'm sure you are a smart girl and if you keep believeing in yourself you can accomplish anything. Remember you are human and we can't be perfect.

Don't think that of yourself, your just probably going through a bad situation but that doesn't mean it will happen from now on, be confident that you are a good student and that all you need is just get back to work and stop thinking that everyone is better than you. Good Luck :)

IF YOU FEEL THAT WAY NOW, WAIT TILL YOU HAVE KIDS! :) SERIOUSLY, THOUGH, IN HIGH SCHOOL I WAS A STRAIGHT A STUDENT, READ ALL THE TIME, KNEW ALL THE BIG WORDS, ETC. IF SOMEONE KNEW AN ANSWER AND I DIDN'T I FELT LIKE A FAILURE. I KNOW EXACTLY HOW YOU FEEL. WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO IS JUST REMEMBER, YOU ARE HUMAN. IF YOU FEEL LIKE THAT, IT JUST MEANS THAT YOUR BRAIN IS OVERLOADED. PERHAPS YOU SHOULD TAKE A DAY OFF. THAT IS HOW I HANDLED THE SITUATION. JUST TELL YOURSELF THAT IT IS OKAY (AND MEAN IT), AND TRY TO DO BETTER NEXT TIME. IF YOU DON'T, WELL, THAT'S COOL TO.

there is absolutely no one that is good all of the time at everything. give yourself a break, it happens. pick yourself back up and go on and shoot for next time. if you keep telling yourself that you lack confidence in yourself, you will always fail. hold your head up and always smile, this will make you feel better in just a few steps. if you dont get a smile in return, they may be having a bad day and your smile may pick them up out of their slump.

dont ever underestimate yourself child, everyone is special in their own way, it may not come easy all of the time but it will come eventually

Good luck to you: remember SMILE & HOLD UR HEAD HI

Move forward. The only reason to look at the past is to make the future better. No need to beat yourself up for being human. We're all fallible and make mistakes. Just do your best and don't worry about it. Life is not about grades. Its about learning.

I think about all the real lame ones who couldn't even qualify for college. You know - the ones with very low grade point averages?

'Lately' means how long to you?
