I am a Christian, but I believe in evolution. (Just thought I would throw that out there because I didn't want you to think we're all creationists, no disrepect intended) In my opinion, Christianity does not conflict with evolution or science in the least. The book of Genesis, for example, was written as a love poem, not a book of chronological facts. If you miss that point you're missing the meaning of the book. This is where God lays the foundation for the Theology of the body.

Most creationism thinks that evolution is a Darwinian conspiracy to remove god from its place in society... They all think that fossils don't really exist and are in fact fabrication of some sort or even not so old living beings (like living 3000 years ago). So in other words, if you want to know what they really think of it, just smoke a few ______ and if the quality was extradinary then you will feel what they can think about it...
My guess is that they enjoy too much Cannabis to believe it comes from something else than god... This is mainly their main evidence put forward as proof (not true but close too).

All creationists (not all Christians) think evolution is baloney. It's possible, but not likely. I mean WWWWAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY not likely. As in, 1 in 999999999999999^2 not likely. It's a faith-based religion, just like Christianity. Only, since evolution doesn't have any god other than time, it's labeled as 'Science', and is therefore taught in public schools as such. But I digress. The answer to your question is that creationists view evolution as a bogus theory invented just to get rid of God.

How can anyone have absolute certainty about the truth of a THEORY imagined by a man? Evolution is not a fact, but it is usually treated like one.

I agree with the above. It is only those who believe that any contradiction with the Bible in any respect topples Christianity who have problems. My interpretation of the Book and my faith is not threatened by science.
