If you get vibration when you step on the brakes, then your brake rotors are probably in need of "cutting" (basically get the surface re-machined to be absolutely flat)
If you get vibration at higher speed (highway speed) then tires are out of balance. When you get new tires, they (the tire shop) should add weights on the tires to balance them. From time to time, rarely but still sometimes, those weights fall off.
There could be other problems, but always try the easiest and cheapest fix before moving on to more expensive solutions. I know it sound obvious - but I always seem to see people recommending all kinds of difficult solution as the first option.

There could be any number of problems, but one thing is for sure; A WHEEL ALIGNMENT WILL NOT SOLVE A VIBRATION!!!!

If it starts around 40-50 miles per hour, most likely it is your front tires out of balance. Generally tire shops only put weights on the inside of your rim to balance your tires. If you want the vibration to go away, re-balance and have them put weights on both sides of the rim.

could be the pitman arm - will find that in an alignment check -
but that could cause your tires out of whack - maybe need balancing? are they round - or are there scooped worn places? scalloped>?
may need new tires and an alignment

you may have hit a curb . this will cause a bent rim that will give you a vibration at medium to high speeds.whatever the cause get it checked out. it could be a tye rod. and your tire could come loose and cause a bad accident.

Either your tires are out of balance or your wheel bearing are shot. There is a chance your tire has a shifted belt in it as well.
