Yes. The best way to settle a dispute is to ask the combatants to argue the other side.

They must interview each other, gather data, and present the opposite case as well as possible to gain any advantage for their own cause.

This works extremely well in fostering consensus and compromise.

Find an impartial arbitrator. They'll listen to both sides & make an informed, fair decision.

Just agree to disagree, not everyone is going to agree on the same things. My husband and I always disagree, we just agree not to discuss issues in which we disagree. It is so much easier.
