well i was talking to my friends about this - my conclusion is that "pacific islander" is a term made by white people in history to identify distinct boundaries between ethnicity, but isnt an actual race. this term now applies to groups of the Oceanic region including hawaiins, polynesian descent, melanesia, micronesia, the polynesian migrants to new zealand, etc. anyway...the point is the polynesian migrated from southeastern Asia (i read somewhere that they were a mix between some kind of black race but im not too sure about this..) therefore they are asian. thoughts?

I see no human system that is moved by logic. Elected officials are elected based on popularity. Thus government is not logical. Churches try people to believe a lot of nonsense. This is also emotional and not logical. Even science as a whole has abandoned logic in favor of authorities. Very seldom a scientist have the courage of challenging the theories of what he was thought in the university. A person can be emotional and at the same time logical. The opposite of emotional is not logical. The opposite of emotional is apathy. Emotions is what make us care about things. Logic is just a break to uncontrolled emotions. Apathy is humans becoming less than animals. Human becoming souless objects,

asians and pacific islanders are two different meaning
asian is a race
pacific islander is mainly saying that person comes from that region of the world...a white person born and rise in a country located in the pacific islands can consider themselves such a term

It's a blanket term made up by whites to make themselves feel better....the more people they can put in little "categories" the better they like it - as long as no other races enter THEIR category.
To me, Pacific Island is one flat word to include many, many different cultures. Just like the term "Asian"....people from Vietnam, Japan, China, Korea and many other countries "fall" into this "category", though their cultures are all very rich, very unique and very different. It's a shame that people get so lumped together.

there is no such - biologically speaking - as "race"

Race is a social construct
Asians are a race
But Koreans and Japanese can be separate races
And muslims cry "racism" when they feel discriminated against.

It doesn't matter. The term is "human being"
