I think with all the off season moves and their excellnt draft picks they not only will fight for a playoff spot but will also contend for the division title.

In that division, anything can happen. I think that the 49ers are going to surprise some people this year. They have a good running game, a nice passing attack, and a much improved D (at least on paper). They also play in one of the weaker divisions in football. So yes, I would not be surprised if they won their division and made the playoffs (that is the only way that they will get in, the wild card is coming out of either the NFC East or South)

All posters so far are underrating the St. Louis Rams. I think they take the division this year. They have greatly improved their running and blocking personnel, and they can finally stuff the run. QB Marc Bulger should be awfully hard to deal with this year. If he goes down, there may be trouble though.

It's Seattle and SF for the wild card, while the Cards break passing records but still drag the cellar for bugs.

They surely have a huge gamble, the way they are taking part in genuine now. With Seattle returned at finished power, it relatively is going to be very difficult to overhaul them interior the branch, yet while no longer, given the competition interior the NFC, of a rest room isn't out of the question........ My call may well be Chicago Seattle Carolina Dallas WCs - Giants and Saints

they will win their division with flying colors because seattle let their #1 receiver go to a division rival and with a back sliding going towards being injury prone, along with a now average passing game seattle has let the 49ers have catapult 2 the front of the line in that division

They might make the playoffs but not as division champs. Seattle will sweep them this season and clinch the division late November. A lot of teams look good on paper but do not have any chemistry. The proof is in the pudding. They haven't proved anything. So don't crown their a**!!!

tough question, I am a cardinals fan unfortunately, and I think that the 49ers changed too many players on the team messing with the chemistry and they are too young to make it this year, I am thinking more of 8-8 and a playoff miss.

Yes, because the NFC is horrible. They also had a good draft and fee agency. Darrell Jackson will be huge for Alex Smith. Frank Gore will be up there again in yrds. and Vernin Davis will break some records at tignt end.

Yeah I think they will. The combination of a lot of right moves in the offseason and a weak NFC probably means they're getting in. For them to make any major progress, though, they need to get their stadium issue settled.

They'll be a Wild Card at 9-7.
