All these little kid fans are always bashing Hogan. And if u notice, none of them are even old enough to have seen Hogan in his prime. All these kids base their info off of what they hear and rumors that they start. I honestly think that anyone on here that isn't old enough to remember guys like Piper wrestling in their prime should stop bashing the old greats and legends. Its only a matter of time til younger kids start coming up and begin bashing guys like Taker and we'll see how they like it. Yeah, Hogan has backstage politics, but he deserved them after what he did for the company and all the years he put in. Guys like HHH basically run part of the show, hell, Taker has a clause in his contract that states that he can't lose at wrestlemania until he sees fit. Some of you little newbie fans (10-15 yrs old) have to shut up about the legends, u weren't even born when they were wrestling in their primes.

Fred O-- I love HHH, he is my 3rd fav probably. I like talented wrestlers. notice I didnt say anything about Cena.

RKO and Edge-- ur too young to have seen Hogan in his prime on tv. You just saw him with one of his comebacks is all.

Hogans leg drop is weak. Yeah and an elevated firemans carry from cena is hardcore. (sarcasm)

I agree, some of the younger kids in here that bash older wrestlers have no clue what they are talking about. Yeah I can see how people would think Hogan or even Duggan are weak but if you didn't see then in their prime you have no real clue what they are about. I never bash new wrestlers if I haven't even seen them wrestle a while.

I agree with you to a certain extent. Hogan made wrestling main stream. But if he wouldn't have someone else would've come along and done it, it was bound to happen. Now be honest, Hogan had less moves IN HIS PRIME, then John Ceman does now. (God how I hate Cena!!!) So I agree with some of the bashing. Look at Mr. Perfect for example during his first WWF run, even though I hated him, he was a great in ring performer. Same goes for someone like Ricky the Dragon Steamboat. Ricky in his prime was the best in ring performer I've ever seen. Remember the matches with Flair and Macho Man? However when you see 'Best Wreslter of all time Polls' you usually see Hogan #1 or #2 and thats WRONG. You see I believe Ricky the Dragon Steamboat is more a 'wrestling' legend than Hogan, he just didn't have the Charisma. Don't get me wrong I like Hogan, he is not my favorite, but I used to enjoy watching him in the old WWF. In fact, WM VI when he went against The Ultimate Warrior remains to this day my favorite match of all time. So I'm on the Fence with the Hogan bashing. I like him but I can see where some people are coming from for bashing him.

I agree. I was 8 years old and watching the very first Wrestlemania on closed circuit television. I remember the good old days of Saturday Night's Main Event. I was a kid going down to Monday night's at the Mid-south Coliseum in Memphis, and believe me when I tell you that a ton of the WWF wrestlers got their start in Memphis (anyone else remember the Undertaker as the Master of Pain?).

Guys like Hulk Hogan laid the foundation for wrestling and gave the guys who are in the business today a platform to work off of. The unfortunate thing is that the quality of the product being tossed out now is so piss-poor compared to what it used to be.

I remember Hogan when he first appeared in the WWF (now the WWE). He may not have had all the greatest wrestling moves but his ring presence is what put the WWE on the road to success. He most defintely paved the way for all the superstars of today. If you look at most of the talent in the WWE today, there are hardly any good "characters". By that I mean interesting characters, both good and bad. Nowadays all you need is a few moves, a pair of tights/trunks and some fireworks and you're a superstar.

I became a fan of wrestling in about 82. I think back in his day, Hogan was awesome. Now, the kids like different things and have different tastes so the corporation had to make some major changes. I don't bash the "greats" of today b/c youngsters today and youngsters back then are totally different. I used to love watching Hogan and all of the other greats. I can take it or leave it now

There would be no wrestling for these kids to watch if it wasn't for Hogan; and Piper (remember, "do you really think they would have loved you so much, if they didn't hate me more")
Yeah, his moves are limited, he was never very agile, he did roids and now he's an egomaniac who puts himself before the business. However, in the1980's he WAS the business. The Hulkster truly made us all want to say our prayers, eat our vitamins and believe in ourselves. He was a ready made, honest to God "sports" hero; no different than Mickey Mantle to my dad, Gehrig to my grandfather or Jordan, Magic, Bird or Jeter to millions of others. He MADE us want him to win, for us.
I can remember (I think I might have been like 8 or 9)watching Bundy destroy Hogan on Saturday Nights Main Event and being so upset I wasn't right until we saw him back on t.v. a couple weeks later. That was his gift. some of the newer guys have that, HHH is great & has respect for the business (politics or family aside), Cena works his but off EVERY time out to put on the best show he can for the people (he actually reminds me of Michaels and Angle in that respect, and they were considered "divas" at earlier parts of their careers)
Are they the best "wrestlers" ever, heck no, but I respect how they go about doing their work.

Just don't forget that without the HULKSTER, these guys would be playing in the Arena Football League or working at Medieval Times.

I am in my teens and I think Hogan was great in his era. Wrestling now and back in the day are different. People like different things but, no matter what no one says Hogan, Flair, Piper, Sting, 'Taker, and all of the other greats are legends. Because if it wasn't for them there would be no wrestling. Also adressing the finishing move, there were alot of finishing moves back in the day that were awesome then, but if you look at it now you would probably laugh.

I hate Hogan and I am in my 30's. When I first became a wrestling fan in the mid eighties, he was my hero. I was the biggest Hulkamaniac the world had ever seen. And I probiblly would still be today if it wasn't for the fact that I met him in 1993 and asked him to take a picture with me and he just said not now kid, I'm busy. Doesn't he know that it's becuase of kids like me that he was anything? Without fans, the wrestlers would be nothing. Anyway, even though I was blinded by his charisma, it's now clear to me that he is one of the worst wrestlers ever.

I started watching AWA wrestling in the early 60's when the bad guys wore black and the good guys wore white - except for Vern Gagne. While I loved Mad Dog Vachon and Da Crusher, when Hogan came along he was a breath of fresh air. The first time I saw him live I couldn't believe how big the guy was. Now he seems small in comparison to a lot of the wrestlers.
The problem is that he went too long. I feel sorry for him when I see him now, just as I feel sorry for Flair, Slaughter, and Duggin when I see them now. Just shadows of their former selves and still addicted to the attention.
