You need to prepare a 'plan of action' for your approach to business success.
As a managing broker, I cannot tell you how many new agents arrive at our offices expecting that their business volume will derive from sitting at the 'floor desk', waiting for incoming phone calls. While such action is a good way to gain some business, you must also have a plan for how you will develop your OWN business volume.

Prepare a strategy of advertising and promotion for yourself. Mail announcements to any and ALL former work contacts and social contacts announcing that you are now in real estate. Your managing broker is looking for YOUR plan as to how you intend to succeed. Be creative. Don't spend useless money on lavish advertising. Just make everyone you know aware that you are in the business, and you are there to help them when they need assistance.

If you need a few simple tips, here they are. ALWAYS have a business card with you, and do NOT be afraid to offer it. When you give your hairstylist or the local restaurant server a cash tip, include your card with the cash.

I could go ON and ON, but I think you are getting the hints here. And your business plan offering to your managing broker needs to include such ideas, along with your costs, for doing such promotion.

Good luck ! Real Estate is a great job, as long as your skin is as thick as that of an alligator.
