It's hard as I think that books are quite personal and what 1 person likes another will hate but my fave books are
Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold (very sad but a great story)
To Kill A Mockingbird By Harper Lee (classic)
The Silver Sword by Ian Serraillier (a kids classic)
any book by Jonathan Kellerman or James Patterson both fantastic writers.

Might want to check out Ryan Callaway's stuff. I'm buying his full-length novel Six Faces on Lulu soon(am expecting something good!), but I've already read Yearly Harvest: The True Story of Christmas. I guess it could fit into the genres of mystery, drama, and maybe horror. It was a neat story, very creepy but with strong and enjoyable characters. It might have been based in part on truth, but is likely fiction. What genre were you looking into? I'm more into fiction but know some non-fiction stuff too.

Letters to a young Poet ~ Ranier Maria Rilke

A World Lit Only By Fire

Jane Eyre

History, Literature, Poetry are always good.

Any current issue of Popular Science or Mental Floss would also be great. (sorry if my selections are chick lit ~winks~)
