Jimmy Carter, the failed commie moron, allowed Iran to be overrun by religious whack jobs. The incidents of terrorism increased dramatically since 1979 and tens of thousands around the world through Iranian backed financing have been killed. Had Jimmy Carter supported the Shah, would fewer people have been brainwashed into the cult of murder those who aren't like you? The Iran/Iraq war was a direct result of commie carter's failures. This is why we had to support sadamn against Iran and balance the two evils. Now through China, North Korea and Pakistan, Iran will obtain nukes and possibly murder millions. How many have already died because of commie carter's incompetence? How many more? Innocent Persians will die, as will Jews and Americans and every other nationality on the planet because of commie carter. What's your guess? Millions? Hundreds of Thousands?

First, the people here who say you are ignorant for pointing out all of this are just ignorant themselves. They know NOTHING of Jimmy Carter's presidency, what a mess he made of this country, and what a mess he made of the world. My guess is that they are too young, but it's possible that they're just part of the masses that are uninformed and prefer to keep it that way.

And, yes, you are right about Jimmy Carter. He's not just a moron, he's dangerous. Thank you for at least TRYING to bring all this to light.

While I was in college in the late 60's, in a coffe shop i overheard an Iranian student, proclaiming that one day his people would be taking their country back from the Shah. i didn't fully understand what he was talking about until several years later.
The point is this was brewing for long before Jimmy carter was Pres., and many people who are supposed to understand this stuff(CIA) either missed or ignored it. Our support of a ruthless dictator at that time has directly led to our being considered the Great Satan by Muslims worldwide.
I know we are not all evil, but I was not living under the thumb of the Shah, either.

I assure you, he is that ignorant.

Carter was not a president I cared much for, but his statesmanship after his prediency has proved him a decent man of the sort all Rabid Bush lovers despise. Rather than cash in his presidency for the Big Green like Ronald Reagan, Carter helped people have homes all over America. In short, he behaved as if patriotism was about personal profit.

Republicans are hopeless in this regard. Selfish and lacking all compassion, they have turned our country into a cesspool of greed and cronyism.

Carter certainly handled the situation poorly (not that I would have done better, mind you...) but he was only in office 4 years, and he can't be blamed for the whole thing.
I think this conflict was bound to arise one way or another.
