574

I filled in the numbers in the series...start with 2 and add 6 to each number until you reach 80, so numbers in series would be 2, 8, 14, 20, 26, 32, 38, 44, 50, 56, 62, 68, 74, 80. The sum is 574.

x = 2 the first number in a regular series
y = 80 the last number in the series
z = 14 the total numbers in the series

answer = (2 + 80) / 2 * (14)
41 * 14 = 574

a=2
d=6
to find the total number of terms..
80= a + (n-1)d
80= 2 + (n-1)6
80=2 + 6n - 6
80=6n - 4
84=6n
n=84/6=14
Now sum of the AP= n/2(2a + (n-1)d
=14/2{2(2) + (14-1)6}
=7{4+78}
=7{82}
=574
