That will depend on the size of the tank. If you go to somewhere like WalMart, you can get a 10, 20, 29, or 55 as a kit for a good price. I think the 10 gallon runs about $30 and the 55 runs about $150. That includes the tank, light, filter, and some trial sizes of food and water conditioner. You'll still need gravel, possibly a heater (depends on the fish you plan to keep), a gravel siphon (for cleaning), any decorations you want, and the fish.

You can do a basic 10 gallon tank for around $50 (without a stand), but I'd recommend a 20 for more flexibility in what fish you get, both in type and number.

It depends on the size you want I know walmart has at least 3 different size tanks in my area. i have brought the 10 gallon one came with filter lighted hood no filter. After i brought it I was wishing i would of gotten the bigger one because i wanted more fish then the 10 gallon could hold. So I went back to walmart and got there 29 gallon one it came with the filter , heater , hooded light. and a few other things i cant think of right off hand. You do have to buy your own gravel. and decor. My suggestion to you is by a bigger tank over a small one. They also say the bigger tanks are easier to take care of Walmart was the cheapest price around my area to buy a tank. the 29 gallon was $99.00 + taxes and the 10 gallon was $29.95+ tax. Unless they went up in the last few months. Hope this is some help Good Luck

It all depends on the fish.. Some fish need a big tank.. some dont mind a small one.. Some fish cost alot.. some not...

Also you have to pay for a filter and some times lighting so that costs alot..

Cheap one with cheap fish like 70-100 USD.. or you could by a Beta in a glass bowl for like 5$

You can go to any pet shop or large retailer and buy a "starter kit" which includes everything you need but fish and water. These can cost around $40 to $80 and are mostly a 10 gallon tank in size. They are great for a beginner, I suggest Guppies, they are great for beginners and also bear live young which is also a nice bonus.

I got my 10 gallon at Walmart for almost $30. It came with the filter, lights, hood and some started food for tropical and gold fish food. That is the best deal I have come across. Then I only had to add the gravel ($2.88 for 5 lbs) and the heater (submersible for $12) Then the plants are very cheap! Hope that helps!

Join your local aquarium club. I always buy used. 55 gallon FW with stand, filters, all the trimmings cost me $75. That was about 5 years ago though. I've put about $300 now into a used 37 tall saltwater seahorse tank. Go to www.reefcentral.com and browse through their club forums. You'll find one close to you.

Your local fish store should be able to set you up with a 20 high for around $100-125 complete. Don't start with a 10, you will regret such a small tank very quickly.

Depends on what size tank you want, type of fish (tropical or salt water), size of the fish, etc...

I'd try your local freecycle group first though and see if anyone has one they don't want anymore. I've received free pet supplies before many times as well as furniture, cell phone, clothes and more.
